This disc captures the hypnotic flow of two entire mousetrapreplica improvisations. The first, taken from a performance at Adelaide's Grace Emily Hotel begins with a tastefully cinematic guitar piece which builds into some dark groove with juicy synthesized bass, into a cinder like guitar figure which gradually builds into a post-apocalyptic avalanche of destructive noise, that somehow keeps it's beautifully melodic shape all the way through.The title track of the album starts innocently enough with a single note from McRobb's jangly sounding stratocaster, but slowly and surely morphs and expands into a hauntingly dark piece with all the power of an orchestra. It is a ferocious yet tasteful improvisation which makes the guitar sound like a completely different beast from the instrument you know.
